At the International Bio Show
Challenge
At the highly competitive 2009 BIO International Convention in Atlanta, Maryland’s Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) sought to market the state as a prime location for bioscience companies — which meant standing out among a sea of exhibiting competitor regions from around the globe.
Approach
Feats designed and executed an interactive, open and unified Pavilion for Maryland’s leading biotech companies, municipalities and universities looking to bring new bio-science companies to the region. The new approach and event flow made cross-selling and tag-teaming the norm, better engaging visitors and creating a much more significant impression of the region than in years past. Areas created specifically for scheduled and on-the-fly meetings, multi-functional display spaces, and the Pavilion’s lounge and café provided multiple options for substantive interaction.
Impact
The new design positioned Maryland bioscience community as a unified, powerful force. Its striking presence was clearly distinguishable in a crowded, cluttered field. And the flow and interactivity opened many doors for conversation and future collaboration.
